Can you wear bracelets in the Army?

Quick Answer

Limited. One wrist identification bracelet and one POW/MIA bracelet are authorized. No other bracelets.

Per AR 670-1, para 3-4, the following bracelets are authorized:

  • One identification bracelet — typically a stainless steel ID bracelet
  • One POW/MIA bracelet — worn to honor prisoners of war or missing in action

No fashion bracelets, rubber wristbands, or other types are authorized while in uniform. Medical alert bracelets may be worn if prescribed.
