a. The Army white service cap is the authorized headgear for wear with the Army white mess and white evening mess uniforms. (See para 18.8 of this regulation for a complete description of the wear of the cap.)
b. Personnel are not required to wear headgear with the Army white mess and white evening mess uniforms to evening social events.
