Quick Answer
The umbrella is an optional purchase item that must be black, plain, with no logos or designs. Soldiers may carry and use it only during inclement weather with service (Class A and B), dress, and mess uniforms. Umbrellas are not authorized in formations or when wearing field or utility uniforms.
